Top 3 Virtual AI Assistants

April 12, 2020

We see a lot of virtual assistants available in the app stores but all of them are not equal. I have investigated and found some 5 best AI assistants which are leading the world these days and they really have awesome features and capabilities. They have been considered because of their voice recognition, doing simple tasks, answering basic questions and many more stuffs.

Google Assistant

Google assistant, the most popular AI assistant in android devices is undoubtedly loaded with extraordinary features. It is available in Android, iOS as well as Chromebooks. There are Google Home Speakers which have recently been launched in India like Google Home and Home Mini which are basically powered by Google Assistant.

It can perform many tasks like turning on or off your room lights, playing music or video, navigation, switching on Bluetooth, wifi or flashlight, etc. If you are tired of finding the contact name, then it can help you to do. You can also message someone just using your voice. If you are bored or have nothing to do, Google Assistant can help you via various games like tic-tac-toe or snake and ladder, quotes and funny jokes. You can also tell it to repeat something or to remember like your friends' name or mom's name. You can ask it about its own life and how she feels about you. The feature that I personally like is you can wake it up just by saying "Ok Google" or "Hey Google" from any screen.

So, it is the best assistant in Android as none another assistant can beat it.

  Siri

Siri is the AI assistant for Apple devices which is available in iOS, Mac, iPad and also has recently arrived on Apple TV. It has been making progress in recent years so fast and it can do various kinds of tasks. Siri was first launched in iOS 4 in the year 2011. iPhone 4S became the first phone to have Siri and due to Siri people believed that iPhone 4S has S in its name.

You can launch Siri just by pressing the home button or by simply saying "hey Siri". And Siri can do a lot of things like calling, texting or emailing your friends using your voice. Using Siri, you can launch any app, do FaceTime video calls, create a calendar event, play music or video, set alarms or reminder so you don't forget your important meetings. You can also ask simple questions to Siri like " How many cups in a litre?". If you have Apple Home Speaker, you can directly control it via Siri.

If we compare Siri and Google assistant, in terms of voice recognition Siri performs way better than Google but sometimes it depends upon the voice of the user.

  Cortana

Cortana is available in Windows 10 devices like desktops, notebooks, and Lumia phones. Everyone who uses Windows devices loves to talk to Cortana. It's named after the AI character in Microsoft's Halo game series. Cortana's voice recognition is not better than Google Assistant and Cortana though it's performing well in Windows 10 devices. It is also available in android devices and the best thing is your notebook and smartphone can work together with Cortana. Cortana is somewhat like amalgamation behind the ideas of Siri and Google Assistant.

Rather than talking to Cortana you can also write to Cortana to search for any document, videos, music, etc. if it is present in your local drives lest it will search the web to get you that. You can wake up Cortana by either saying "Hey Cortana" or pressing Windows key + C. You can also tell her about your interests, likings, timings when you don't want to be disturbed. It can also open apps, switch on or off bluetooth, wifi or battery saver. You can also access Cortana direct from the lockscreen. It can also lock and Shutdown your PC. It shows news, intersting facts, tips and tricks. You can set calendar events and reminder. Cortana helps you to make a to-do list.

These three AI assistants are far better than other ones but there are others also which follows the list like Alexa or Bixby.
